Shelly Hardland

Shelley Harland’s music career began in a tiny Brooklyn apartment where her only companions were a four-track recorder, a beaten up acoustic guitar and cockroaches.
Never trained on an instrument and with a desire to create the songs that persistently played in her head she taught herself composition by ear.
Her writing talents, vocals, and programming skills were soon recognized and lead to collaborations with such luminaries as John Cale (of the Velvet Underground), Ferry Corsten, DJ Rap, Guru (Jazzmatzz), Duke Mushroom, Joshua Ryan, Junkie XL, Rio Klein, Pole Folder, Sleepthief, J-Punch, Loverush UK, Delerium, and Josh Abraham
After taking over vocal duties for Sarah McLachlan and Sixpence None The Richer’s Leigh Nash for the Delerium U.S. and Canadian tour, Harland received glowing reviews for her performance.
“…an angelic voice unlike any I had heard before.” –Auralgasms (www.auralgasms.com)
Harland spends her time between New York, London and Australia and continues to create the music she feels in her heart. She is currently working on her next album due for release in 2007.
“Not often does a vocalist come around that makes you turn your head and take notice, but in English-born and U.S.-based Shelley Harland, a talent is about to emerge to us all.”
