Eros recently won 2nd place in the Akai/Numark/Alesis contest called “Milestones”. This competition was held to find, up and coming artists that excel in composition, mixing and production skills. The track that placed was “Buttons and Gadgets” available on Beatport.com… or me if you ask nice Eros lives and makes music in Orlando Florida where he has lived all of his life. He has around 15 vinyl releases, as well as 3 CDs of original music, some of which is released on his own label D’funkt records.

Eros not only produces in the studio, but performs live at venues around the globe as well. Not to be confused as a DJ, Eros recreates and twists his songs live on stage, using the actual keyboards and drum machines used to compose the original tunes. Eros’s twist on the “Live PA” has been featured on such line-ups such as The Zen Festival, Ultra Music Festival, 55 Degrees, and many others across the country. Eros has been approached by, and or worked with, such labels as Tommy Boy, Robbins Entertainment, Koch Records, Time Life Music, RCA, Tweak, Mafddap, Kram and PK records.

Eros has had commercial radio play of “Whats that sound”, “Anthem” and “The Roller Skate song”. His music is now on the popular dance music mp3 sites Beatport.com. and Apple’s Itunes.com. Check out myspace.com/dfunktrecords for more tunes.

THE INTERVIEW

Who Influenced You ? Early prodigy, chemical bros

What do you like most about producing/music ? Its a great outlet for creativity and theres an instant satisfaction factor that can’t be matched.

Where do you think producing and electronica music will be in the Future ? I think its going to be with us for a long time. The technology is making it possible for anyone with a $200 PC, to make studio quality tracks, and distribute them as digital files… no manufaturing costs at all! Its only going to get easier and therefore more music is being made.

If you could record with any artists living or dead who would it be ? Bradley (singer from Sublime) I love that guy. I make electronica but you’ll catch me with a sublime CD on most of the time

The last song you just listened to ? “Change your mind” by The Killers.

If you also Dj Where have you spun ? I do a live PA. I’ve been lucky enough to quite a few states. LA, NY, FL, NE, AZ, KY ect.

Best party ? This really kick ass party called 55%. It was an ice skating ring converted to a Rave… The people were all out on the ice dancing, lights, concert sound and steam! It was awesome.

What is HOTTEST club you HAVE ever BEEN ? Hmm you know, nothing really stands out. Guess I haven’t been blown away yet.

what gear do u prefer ? Akai MPC’s, Mac, Old Roland gear, Moog.

What moves you as an artist ? The reaction of the crowd. I think about it often when I’m making music. It drives me to make better, more interesting music.

If you could change one thing about Djing/Producing what would it be ? I wish more Dj’s would broaden they’re music styles and not feel like they have to stay true to one genre. I think the club scene would be more interesting if people mixed it up a little more. I like to go through alot of diff styles during my shows.. keep it fresh and you guessing.

If you could change one thing about the WORLD what would it be ? What is this… a miss America pagent? lol. I don’t know.. world peace would be nice.
