Who influenced you??
Well, I was almost 16 when the incredible nineties began, an age on which
music is very important…
Grunge came up with Nirvana and I already knew the Pixies for a while, I was
a kind of young, angry punkrocker…
After a couple of years however I got struck by the wild upcoming Belgian
Newbeatscene and I got to know the electronic body-music of Front 242 & the
Neon Judgement… I started playing the bass and before I knew well I was
touring the States with a very kinky techno-project called Lords of Acid…
We made wild performances over there and this was in fact my biggest
influence on my further musical career… Of course I have other important
influences I should mention, but I would have to write a book about them,
which is not the meaning of this site…:)
What do you like most about djing and or producing?
To be honest: I don’t have a lot experience with spinning the turntables, I
am more the producer-performer-musician…
Of course it happens that they invite me for a DJ-set and I like it a lot,
but I like to dance too much so I let this profession over on the real
spindoctors!!!
As a producer I like it the most to collaborate with other musicians, other
styles and other backgrounds..
Respect is very important when you work together on a song with someone…
Your thoughts on vinyl vs mixing software.. ?
Being a DJ, knowing well your gear, is a very underestimated profession, I
think…
But as I said before, I am not really specialised in being a good mixer in a
funky club!!
I rather dance to the beat of all those great, young Deejays from all over
the world!!!
The last song you listened to??
haha, That is Chicagohousedj’s ‘time’, which I like a lot!!
Top 5 Favorite Cuts of all time ‘any genre’…
Pfff, I cannot answer this, I really can’t…
There are hunderds of songs wich I adore and I don’t want to make a
definitive choise…
It would be a choise too temporary…
Where have you spun??
Mostly @ private party’s with lots of booze & dope, hahaha!!!
Best party?
I think I must have been on acid or XTC…
Worst party?
Some vampire-horror-trip…
What gear do you prefer to mix on?
I bought this DENON-S1200 turntable-set… I am quite comfortable with that!
What gear did you start on?
On a secondhand bass without the amplifyer…:)
If you could change one thing about the music industry what would it be?
That there would be record-companies that accept all styles no matter
what…
If you could change one thing about the world you live in what would that
be?
Peace & love for everybody except for people who don’t want peace & love for
everybody!!
