Cool Million is an upfront production team and collective of soulful friends taking soul back to the future. We respect and love the past, but we also believe in progress.
Cool Million was founded by Frank Ryle, a well known soul music personality in his home country Denmark. As the founder of Denmark leading soul music page, Soulportal.dk, Frank has built up a huge network worldwide of artists, radio- and club DJ’s and record companies over the years.
Rob Hardt (Seductive Soul) of Germany is the second half of Cool Million. Rob is a well respected remixer, songwriter and producer. His credits includes production, remix and songwriting for artist like Chaka Khan - Never Miss The Water - Reprise Records / Keith Sweat - Twisted - Reprise Records / Roger Troutman & Zapp - Livin For the City - Reprise Records, just to mention a few. He also (together with Harry Zier) produced the acclaimed debut album of Donald McCollum “U Don’t Want My Love”, released on Dome Records in 2006. Other releases from Rob include another acclaimed set, his own jazzy deep house project The Defloristics entitled “Back In The Days” on Lil Angel Records.

Who Influenced You ?
All the great bands from back in the days, especially from the early 80’s.
Bands and artist like The SOS Band, Mtume, Kleeer, Change, Con Funk Shun, Cameo,Loose Ends, Evelyn King, Stephanie Mills, Kashif.
What do you like most about djing and or producing ?
When DJing it’s great to force the crowd on to your choice’s - giving them something they didn’t know they wanted.
Producing music gives us free hands and total control on how we want the music to sound. Both things are great and big fun…
But producing is our first choice.
Your Thoughts on vinyl vs mixing software.?
At all times we prefer the vinyl…it has the right feeling and looks better.. ![]()
,but we have to use the software as well - especially when we do house sets.
The last song you just listened to ?
A brand new remix from our debut-album Going Out Tonight, that soon will be out…
Best party ?
Last time we were DJing at a Funk Club, play strictly old funk 45’s… the crowd was great and the dance was superb… lots of fun.
Worst party ?
It was sometime ago, and not worth to spend much time thinking of..
what gear do u prefer to mix on?
Let me see some decent turntables a pioneer mixer and pioneers CD-decks… and we are good to go.
What gear did you start on?
Two different turntables and a small mixer.. really homemade and but It got us started.
If you could change one thing about the music industry what would it be?
That the major labels would give SOUL music a better spot and that the illegal filesharing would end.. It’s really not good for the guys and gals trying to make a living.
If you could change one thing about the world you live in what would that be?
That the 3rd world would be a better place to live- and that there would be peace in all counties.
